NAAS RUN RIOT — EIGHT-GOAL BLITZ AT MOONE
Naas romped it. Stung by defeat the week before, the Boys U12 Major side answered in the only way they know how — by smashing EIGHT past Moone Celtic and sending a thundering warning to every team in the league.
The young guns arrived at Moone amped up, and it showed inside three minutes. Matthew tore down the left, beat his man, and whipped in a cross that James buried with all the cool of a veteran. One-nil, and the flood was coming.
James struck again on 20 minutes after Bobby’s delivery caused chaos in the box, and it stayed 2–0 at the break only thanks to a hero’s goal-line clearance from a Moone defender — the keeper beaten, Matthew’s nutmeg done, and the ball somehow swiped off the line. Moone’s heads never dropped, but Seb, Alex S and Darragh O’T slammed the door in midfield.
Then came the second-half blitz. Matthew rose highest to bullet home a header on 32 minutes, and four minutes later produced the goal of the game — a mazy solo run that left three or four Moone defenders chasing shadows before he drove it into the bottom corner. Eoghan, Darragh P and James (completing a superb hat-trick) all piled on as Naas ran absolutely riot, before Jason kept his head under pressure to slot the eighth and cap an 8–0 demolition.
Fifty minutes, eight goals, and a season tally now standing at a staggering 54 goals and 29 assists. A magnificent team performance and a thoroughly deserved win.
