Match Report
It was an impressive and dominant performance from the Naas girls despite missing several first-team players.
Naas stormed out of the gates from the very first whistle with a strong attack. With Kayley leading the charge up front, Evie coordinating on the left, and newcomer Lauren on the right, they created constant pressure. The breakthrough came from Laurel, who attacked down the right flank and unleashed a dangerous shot that Kilcock struggled to deal with.
Aoife was particularly notable on the wing, supporting the lethal Kayley. Meanwhile, the Naas back four, including Faye, Laurel, Alex, and Aine, maintained a composed presence, limiting Kilcock’s opportunities. Aoibhainn, ready and capable in goal, ensured she was called upon when necessary. It was a stroke of bad luck that Naas only led 1-0 at halftime.
As the second half began, Kate and Alana took on the task of hunting for that elusive second goal. Their persistence paid off when Evie slotted home a tidy finishโ2-0! Naas continued to create chances with Lauren and Aoife joining the attack. A dubious consolation goal was awarded to Kilcock, but Naas quickly put the game to bed after a brilliant run from Aoife resulted in a penalty. Kate confidently slotted home the penalty, sealing a 3-1 victory.
Looking ahead, Naas will now prepare for an important fixture against Newbridge. Special thanks to Lauren, who had an outstanding debut.
Great effort from everyone involved!
