Saturday 21st March 2026 | Boys U15 Major 2 Blue | Naas AFC 5โ€“0 Monasterevin AFC | LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

THEY ARE THE CHAMPIONS. And nobody โ€” absolutely nobody โ€” can take that away from them.

Naas AFCโ€™s Boys U15 Major 2 Blue side sealed the league title in the most emphatic fashion possible on Saturday, hammering Monasterevin AFC 5-0 on a glorious sun-drenched afternoon at the Naas Sports Grounds. UNBEATEN. LEAGUE CHAMPIONS. With a game still to spare. Jaw-dropping.

A 40-minute delay to kick-off did nothing to dampen the spirits of a packed and electric sideline โ€” everyone present knowing exactly what was at stake, and exactly what these lads were capable of.

The opening period was tight. Monasterevin, a tough outfit, gave Naas plenty of early problems, but goalkeeper Sam was unshakeable โ€” producing a stunning save with a crowded penalty area to keep the scoreline level. Naas threatened relentlessly through the creative genius of Niko, the pace of Senan, and the tireless pressing of Freddie, but Monasterevinโ€™s keeper was equal to everything. Until the 20th minute, that is. Harryโ€™s perfectly placed free kick found Zsombor, who smashed the ball into the net. 1-0. Game. On.

The second half was a different story entirely. Monasterevin, reduced in intensity after losing a key player, were overwhelmed. Zsombor combined beautifully with Fionn to tee up Niko for a clinical 2-0. Then Zsombor burst up the wing, hit the deck, bounced straight back up, and played the perfect ball to Freddie โ€” 3-0. Freddie wasnโ€™t done. Seconds later, the striker was at it again โ€” 4-0! And then Fionn put the glorious icing on the most magnificent cake โ€” 5-0!

The full-time whistle triggered scenes of pure, unbridled joy. Players. Parents. Coaches. All of them united in celebration of something truly special.

โ€œAs coaches we could not be more proud,โ€ the management said afterwards, visibly emotional. โ€œA great group of lads โ€” the league title, unbeaten with one game remaining. Way above our expectation.โ€

Special tribute was paid to long-serving coach Ian, whose years of dedication and commitment to this group of players finally received the ultimate reward. A standing ovation doesnโ€™t do it justice.

The back four of Jack, Jamie, Matthew and Harry were magnificent throughout. And from the coaches โ€” a heartfelt thanks to every single supporter who showed up week after week. It made a difference. It always does.

Now? The Shield. The Cup. The final league game. Who knows what else these brilliant lads can achieve? ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ’™
