RAMPANT NAAS HIT SEVEN IN SENSATIONAL ALLENWOOD DEMOLITION!
What a performance! Naas AFC’s Boys U15 (2012) Major 2 superstars put on an absolute masterclass on Sat, 17 Oct 2026, roaring to an emphatic Allenwood 1–7 Naas AFC derby triumph over Allenwood!
Following a few weeks break since the last game Naas were eager to build on a very strong second half performance against Clane. Naas highlighted the need to start fast and on the front foot and to continue to stretch the opposition by passing to the wide men. The lads served up an opening ten minutes as if Naas'd scripted it ourselves. The defence won the ball high and played through the thirds releasing JJ and Cian in the wide areas. A series of shots and crosses forced Allenwood into ever more desperate defending and following a prolonged period in attack a corner fell to Daniel in the box and he showed great imagination and awareness to back heel the ball to the corner of the net.
Naas didn't take the foot off the gas and kept Allenwood pinned in. Cian and JJ were tormenting the full backs and as Allenwood struggled to clear their lines Nicholas picked the ball up at the edge of the box, skipped past the defender and calmly finished. A carbon copy of his goal from the Clane match.
It was inevitable that a third goal would be scored as the overworked Allenwood defence kept conceding corners and from another excellent delivery Konrad sneaked around the back and turned the ball in from close range.
The fourth arrived soon after with Cian bursting on to the through ball and finishing confidently. (His third goal in three games).
At this stage the stand in keeper, Fionn was practically a spectator but there were signs of a couple of players taking the foot off the gas as Allenwood runners from midfield were not tracked and players got caught high up the pitch.
The half time break gave Naas a chance to address these issues and Naas looked comfortable again at the start of the second half. The back three of Daniel, Konrad and Cody in complete control. The wing backs of Amine, Jamie and Rioghan taking on the lessons of last week and pushed higher to support the wingers. With Nicolas, Cian and Matthew in complete control in midfield the chances started to arrive again. Eoghan and JJ once again threatened the full backs and Kyle was unlucky not to get on the end of a couple of threatening crosses. The pressure finally told when Konrad scored his second of the day, picking up the ball at the edge of the box after yet another corner and finishing well.
At this point Eoghan replaced Fionn in goals and a couple of players were moved into unfamiliar positions and just as in the first half a couple of players eased off. This allowed Allenwood to get a foothold in the game and once again a long ball over the top saw the runner not tracked and Eoghan made a great save. Cody in typical never say die attitude recovered to clear the second ball. Naas weren't so lucky a couple of minutes later as another long straight ball caught the defence square and the Allenwood forward finished well.
That was as good as it got for Allenwood as Cian and Matthew reasserted themselves in midfield and took control of the game. Fionn, now playing from the left hand side arrived at the back post to set up Kyle who was unlucky to see his shot hit the post.
Naas weren't finished though and Cian and Matthew were really hurting Allenwood with their passing. A brilliant move with give and go and one twos saw Kyle released on the centre back's shoulder and he gave the keeper no chance. A well deserved goal for Kyle as he had pressed and harried the defence all day and linked the play very well.
The cherry on top came in the dying minutes as the midfield cut Allenwood open. Matthew was released and showed imagination and perfect weight of pass to slip Kyle in. Kyle didn't have to break stride before striking to the bottom corner. Game over.
Final Score Allenwood 1 -Naas 7.
With momentum building and confidence sky-high, this talented Naas squad has laid down a serious marker for the battles ahead. Up the Blues!
