BRAVE NAAS REDS FALL TO LATE HEARTBREAK AGAINST PROSPEROUS!
Naas AFC U12 Red 2–5 Prosperous United
KDUL Major 2 League | Saturday, 9 May 2026
A week’s rest. Fresh legs. A tough opponent. And a Naas AFC U12 Red side that had absolutely EVERYTHING going for them — before Prosperous United’s big squad wore the young Blues down in the final quarter.
It was Eoin — cool as you like — who put Naas in front with a low drive into the corner. Then disaster: a penalty conceded, converted. Then heartbreak as John — who had been utterly dominant in defence — was injured in a tackle, allowing Prosperous’ winger a free run through. 2–1 down.
But this young Naas team has CHARACTER. In the dying seconds of the first half, Eoin whipped in a corner and the HITMAN — lethal in front of goal — rose to head home. 2–2 at the break. The parents went wild!
The second half was a battle of attrition. Leo’s pace on the wing continued to cause problems. Alfie and Geo both went close. But Prosperous — with more bodies, more rotation — gradually ground Naas down, snatching a late lead and keeping their nerve to run out 5–2 winners.
Conall in goal — reliable as ever. Matthew, Sam, and John — as consistent as they come. These lads have the quality. The stamina will come.
