Away Trips & Overnight Stay Policy
This document outlines the official policy for Naas AFC. All members, parents, and officials are expected to read and adhere to these guidelines to ensure a safe, fair, and legally compliant environment.
To ensure all trips are organized safely in accordance with the FAI Child Welfare Policy and the Children First Act 2015. The welfare of the child is the paramount consideration. All overnight trips must receive prior approval from the Club Committee.
Note: Parents must label all medication/inhalers/EpiPens and inform supervising coaches of their location and instructions.
A Team Manager/Head of Delegation is responsible for welfare, behavior, accommodation, and parent communication.
Under 12s (1:8 ratio). Over 12s (1:10 ratio). Minimum of two Garda-vetted adults must be present.
Accommodation: Adults must never share a room with a child.
Privacy: Adults must knock before entering; no adult should enter a playerβs room alone.
Behavior: No alcohol, smoking, or illegal substances for any participant or official.
Curfew: Lights-out times must be agreed upon and strictly monitored.
Check rooms and communal areas immediately. Notify venue staff, parents, and the Club Welfare Officer (CWO). If not located promptly, contact An Garda SΓochΓ‘na or local police.
Use the SportsMember app to record injuries or concerns within 24 hours.
The club ensures appropriate insurance cover is in place for all approved trips.
This policy is reviewed every two years or following any safeguarding incident.
