Younger guns fire — U16s grab bragging rights
The Under-16s edged a cracking internal development clash against the U17 side 2-1, stealing the bragging rights their older clubmates were desperate to keep.
Two soft goals in the opening period left the U17s chasing the game, but a sensational team move hauled them back into it — Tony won the ball, Oscar shifted it on, Conor drove down the line, and Liban applied the finish. A goal of real quality.
Sparked by a rallying team talk from coach Daniel, the U17s pressed high in a barnstorming final period that carried all the passion and pressure of a cup final. Ryan O’Rourke was magnificent in a central attacking role, running the show throughout.
It wasn’t enough on the night, but the fightback is the blueprint this group will take forward.
