Brave Reds finish proud season on a fizzy note

Result: Naas AFC U12 Red 1 – 3 Kildare Town
Scorer: Adi Murthy
Competition: League (season finale)
Team: Boys U12 (2014) Red
Date: 10 October 2026

Naas AFC U12 Red signed off their season with a battling display against Kildare Town, edged out 3-1 in a hard-fought finale — but the scoreline told only half the story of a campaign worthy of a toast.

Geo conjured the magic just before the break, lofting a delightful ball into the box for Adi Murthy to turn home and open the scoring. But Kildare’s No.7 proved their danger man, firing a second-half hat-trick to pinch the points.

True to their nature, the Reds never stopped fighting. And when the final whistle went, John was true to his word — producing a dozen cans of Coca-Cola (original, obviously) to cap a season full of memories.

Twenty matches, 52 training sessions, 33 goals and 13 different scorers. A mid-table finish that says precious little about the effort and heart this tight-knit group poured in every week. Heads high, lads.
