SUPER NAAS ROAR! PULSATING DERBY HEROICS SEAL DRAMATIC VICTORY OVER KILDARE TOWN!
What a performance! Naas AFC’s Boys U16 (2011) Major 1 superstars put on an absolute masterclass on Sat, 31 Oct 2026, roaring to an emphatic Naas AFC 3–2 Kildare Town AFC derby triumph over Kildare Town!
What a comeback and a fantastic team performance from Naas Blue today on the home ground!
Kildare started strongly, taking the lead inside the first 10 minutes when their number 6 broke through the back four to find the net. Shortly afterwards, they doubled their advantage in a similar fashion, leaving Naas with a mountain to climb.
However, credit to the lads,
Naas kept the composure, continued to work as a team and fought the way back into the game.
the first goal came from a penalty around the 15-minute mark, giving Naas the confidence to push forward. Not long after, Naas capitalised on a goal kick, with the striker reacting quickly to the opportunity and putting the ball into the back of the net to level the score at 2β2.
From that point onwards, Naas took control of the game. Naas dominated the midfield, worked hard to win possession and created several opportunities, although a number of the shots went wide.
The biggest positive today was the second-half performance.
For the first time this season, Naas won the second half! This is a fantastic achievement for the lads, particularly as Naas have struggled in previous matches to maintain the composure, intensity and pace throughout the game.
the third goal came from some excellent team play, completing a brilliant comeback and securing a well-deserved 3β2 home victory.
Overall, a fantastic team effort and a real demonstration of how much this group is improving. Coming back from two goals down shows character, determination and a growing belief in ourselves.
Player of the Match β Cian
Cian gets Player of the Match today for scoring two goals and playing a key role in leading the attack. His movement, determination and contribution going forward were excellent throughout the game. Well deserved!
A final word on sportsmanship
Today's match was emotionally charged, with a number of decisions that may have been open to debate. However, regardless of what happens on the pitch, it is important that Naas, as Naas AFC, lead by example.
Naas represent not only ourselves and the teammates but also the club. Respect for the opposition, match officials and everyone involved in the game must always come first.
Naas can be competitive, passionate and determined to win while still conducting ourselves in the best possible manner. This is the standard Naas want to set for the players and everyone representing Naas AFC.
A brilliant comeback, a fantastic second-half performance and another big step forward for the team. Well done, lads! π΅βͺ
With momentum building and confidence sky-high, this talented Naas squad has laid down a serious marker for the battles ahead. Up the Blues!
