Our Story

Naas AFC was founded in 1990. It began with a single team and has grown steadily into one of the largest underage football clubs outside Dublin and the biggest club in the Kildare and District Underage League (KDUL). Today, the club has grown into a club of regional scale with 900+ members (predominantly juvenile players), 140+ coaches (all fully vetted and safeguarded), and 40+ teams, boys and girls, ranging from Academy (ages 5–8) through to senior men’s and women’s squads.

From the very beginning, Naas AFC has been a community-driven club. Every coach, committee member, and matchday helper is a volunteer — a parent or neighbour giving their time to keep football thriving in Naas. That spirit of volunteerism earned the club FAI Club Mark accreditation in 2025.

Our Facilities

Naas AFC uses Naas Sports Centre on Caragh Road, Naas, Co. Kildare as its home ground. Facilities include:

• Multiple grass pitches (11-a-side, 9-a-side and smaller formats)
• Dedicated floodlit training areas
• Access to the centre’s gym, changing rooms and other amenities

The club is actively fundraising for much-needed facility upgrades, including a full-size astro pitch to reduce weather-related cancellations and expand capacity, and a dedicated clubhouse to provide a centre-point for the town’s football community.

Coaching Excellence

Naas AFC is committed to giving every player the best possible coaching experience. Over 90% of volunteer coaches have completed FAI Coaching courses (PDP1 and PDP2), and four hold a UEFA B Licence or higher. The club regularly runs subsidised coaching workshops so that volunteers can develop their skills alongside the players they coach.
