In a thrilling encounter under sweltering conditions, Newbridge faced off against Naas in a battle that saw both teams give it their all. Naas arguably had the upper hand but unfortunately left the pitch empty-handed once again.

First Half Highlights:

Naas burst into the game with an early chance from Kate that narrowly missed the target. Following up, Evie delivered a superb cross which Amelia almost converted into a goal, putting Newbridge’s defense under pressure. The right-wing partnership of Rosie and Amelia showcased dangerous link-up play, with Amelia narrowly missing again with a header just past the post.

Despite their impressive attacking plays, it was Newbridge that capitalized on their first chance, scoring with a swift counter-attack to lead 1-0. Naas continued to push back, displaying great energy despite the heat, thanks to strong performances in midfield from Annabel and Kate. This persistent pressure finally saw them equalize, with Kate finding the back of the net for the fifth time this season, making it a 1-1 game at half-time.

Second Half Highlights:

The second half commenced with both teams appearing fatigued. Newbridge opted for a defensive strategy, aiming to hit Naas on the counter. This tactic bore fruit when they regained the lead at 2-1.

In search of an equalizer, Naas brought in Alana to energize the midfield. Defensively, Laurel, Faye, and Grace proved resilient once again, while Lauren delivered another strong performance in goal. However, despite their concerted efforts, it was Newbridge who walked away with the victory this time.

The Naas girls should hold their heads high after another commendable performance, knowing that their results will undoubtedly come.
