U16s edge a corker against Newbridge
Naas AFC U16 Major 2 held their nerve to bank a thrilling 5-4 win over Newbridge United — a scoreline that barely did justice to their dominance for long spells.
Fionán orchestrated the show from midfield, teeing up a beauty for Niko before chipping in with a goal of his own. Sam O’Malley was quickest in a corner scramble to smash home the equaliser, and Sean Savage again got his customary goal.
Niko was the star of the show with two lovely finishes — a dinked outside-of-the-boot effort and a cheeky 25-yard spot when he saw the keeper off his line. Newbridge kept fighting and nicked the last goal, but this slick, composed Naas side were full value for the points.
