Second-half surge too little, too late for Naas
Naas AFC’s U17s fought back bravely after the break but were left with too much to do, going down 4–1 to a tidy Athy Town outfit.
Four goals down at the turn against the wind, the Boys could have folded. Instead they came out swinging. They pinned Athy in their own half and pulled one back when Cameron scrambled home from a goalmouth melee — and he nearly had a second, a header flashing just wide.
Captain Kyle led the charge, cool as ice yet ferocious in the tackle, while the half-time demand for a ten-second press sparked the revival. Naas shut Athy out completely after the restart and won the second half 1-0.
Brave, but the first-half damage had already been done.
