Naas hosted league leaders Castle Villa at Pitch 1, Naas Sports Centre. Naas controlled play with good passing that released their wingers and created problems through their attacking approach. Castle Villa employed a long-ball strategy to slow Naas’s momentum.
Naas created more chances from crosses but as the game drew to a close they couldn’t break the deadlock. A controversial incident occurred when Hin Ngo was fouled in the box — the referee issued only a yellow card when a clear red card was warranted, which altered match momentum. Jamie Dunphy marshalled the back line superbly.
Mikey Danu, Kellum Finnegan, Jason Gleeson, Adam Conroy, Sean Hayden, and Peter McBride all played well. Cup Quarter Final against Kilcock at home is next up on Thursday.
