Boys U11 Yellow: Naas AFC U11 Yellow 1 – 4 Clane Utd

Match Report

The yellows first game of the season proved to be a very competitive affair against a solid Clane Utd team who where fresh from their 11-1 win over Prosperous the previous week. Naas started strongly and tested the Clane goalkeeper early in.

Naas were on top for the first ten minutes but just couldn’t find a way through. Senan, Theo, John all caused problems for the defence. Against the run of play Clane scored first on 16 mins.

Naas searched for the equalizer and it came on 23 mins with a superb assist from Josh and an excellent finish from Oisin. Literally on the stroke of halftime Clane were awarded a dubious penalty which they converted just as the half time whistle blew. 1-2 halftime.

Second half Naas pushed forward again in search of their second goal, both Senans went close along with John. Ultimately with players committed up front, Clane broke on the counter attack and scored their 3rd on 33 mins. 8 minutes later they had their 4th. In the end it finished 1-4 which overall wasn’t an accurate reflection of the game.

The yellows can take a lot of positives from their first game. Onwards to next week’s game.
