Dunlavin scored the first goal of the game this evening. Naas soon turned up the pressure, but saw several attempts go just wide before goals from Ava Hartigan and Margaret Reagan put us ahead before the first break. Aoibhinn McNally tore up the field in the second quarter to put a loose ball into the net. Madison McElroy added another goal to the two she scored on Sunday with a brilliant strike. In Q3, Ava Hartigan, at the end of really well worked team move, hit the target again to put the game out of reach. Dunlavin scored late on in the match, but that’s where it ended 5-2 to Naas.
A lot of positives to take from the game. Molly, Eilish, Lauren, Ava Haberlin and Aoibhinn McNally put up a formidable defence. We saw some lovely intricate passing in the mid-field with Hazel, Margaret, Ava Hartigan, Anna, Eve and Sophie. Madison is in good form up front, with fellow strikers Aoibhinn Morrissey and Emily getting closer to opening their accounts for the season. We’ve also found ourselves a terrific goal keeper in Maria.
